A cat on a diet.

Current Bestest Song Ever: Eve 6 - Inside Out

During the Yum Kippur fast, I came to the conclusion that Otto's raids on Hatula's food bowl are quite annoying.
Not only the little elephant devours his own food in record time, he often finishes her food even before he goes to his bowl.
Needless to say this caused Hatula's body to adapt and continue running life support and mental deficiency systems on half of the normal intake.

Even though he has access to two bowls, this does little to stop small hippo here from grating every morning and every evening in a manner that leaves me in awe.
If he is really so hungry like he tries to convince me, then how the hell he manages to squeak so loud and burst into record breaking run whenever my brain waves transmit the term "Kitchen"??

Anyway, this had to stop. I took the liberty of pulling inside the house the heavy duty workbench Amit and Polina have on the balcony for no apparent reason and place Hatula's food on it.
Due to his size and gravity bending weight, Otto is unable to pull himself to such heights.

This had the desired affect - Unable to even consider clambering to such heights, Otto can't fill his food requirements using Hatula's food.
The squeaking continues naturally but I got used to it..

After a day I noticed however that the movement of the food had another, less desired affect.
Unable to comprehend the sudden change in scenery, Hatula stopped eating.
So for the first few days, I would pick her up to her eagle nest. Sometimes she would eat, sometimes she would run away.

This state of affairs continued for some days, until I noticed Hatula is finally climbing up the bench and eats her food.

Once again, the human brain overpowered the destructive forces of nature.
